Alright, this is going to be difficult to choose five, and most likely I will not be able to rank them.
1) The unfairness of the courts system that they give Michael Schiavo full legal privileges of marriage when he has been living with another woman for years and had children with her (he has another family) and he stands to gain $300,000 from her death, and somehow the courts respect his testimony of his wife's wishes over the testimony of her parents who clearly love her. How can a court believe his testimony when he was unfaithful to his marriage vows to his wife? This reminds me of the Solomon-and-two-women-fighting-over-a-baby case: in that the parents just want their daughter to live! (However it is unlike in that it doesn't take the wisdom of Solomon to see what is right here.)
2) That republicans have control over the presidency, both houses of congress, the governorship of Florida, and their hands are tied to give a drink of cold water to a woman because of the unbalance of power in the courts.
3) The media keeps mentioning the "Terri Schiavo right-to-die" case. First of all, it is the Terri right-to-live case, and anywayI don't remember anything in our constitution about the right-to-die, do you? Just what laws are the judges basing their decisions on?
4) Why does Michael Schaivo keep visiting her when she's so "brain-dead." Everytime he goes to the hospice, her real family is kept from entering. The latest I heard was that he was going to stay by her bedside till she dies. How romantic! Why doesn't he go home and pay attention to his other family? He probably doesn't want the news to leak out about how much Terri is suffering and what her final moments are like.
5) I am shocked that there aren't more people from churches in the state of Florida down there protesting!
